Cookie Policy

Last updated · 6 May 2026 · Version 1.0

This Cookie Policy explains how FestiClip ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on the festiclip.app website (the "Website"). The FestiClip mobile app does not use HTTP cookies; it relies on platform-native local storage that performs equivalent functions, which we describe in our Privacy Policy.

We use cookies in line with Article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunicatiewet, which implements the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC. Where cookies process personal data, we apply the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 ("GDPR") and the Dutch implementing act (Uitvoeringswet AVG).

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file your browser saves so a website can remember things about you between visits, for example that you've signed in or which language you prefer. Other technologies (pixels, local storage, device fingerprinting) can achieve similar effects without using a literal cookie file. Where they store or read information on your device, the same legal rules apply.

2. Legal basis

Under Article 11.7a Telecommunicatiewet, storing or reading information on your device requires your prior consent, unless the cookie is:

  • strictly necessary to deliver a service you have explicitly asked for (for example, keeping you signed in or protecting a form against cross-site request forgery); or
  • used solely for the technical transmission of a communication.

For any other cookie we ask for your consent through the cookie banner the first time you visit the Website. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via Settings → Privacy, or by clearing the fc_consent cookie in your browser. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing that took place before you withdrew it.

4. Privacy-friendly analytics (no cookies)

We use Plausible Analytics to understand how the Website is used in aggregate, for example which pages are most visited. Plausible is an EU-hosted analytics tool that does not set cookies, does not store or read information on your device, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across sites. Because Plausible does not place information on your terminal equipment, it falls outside the consent requirement of Article 11.7a Tw, in line with the Dutch Data Protection Authority's guidance on privacy-friendly analytics.

5. What we do not use

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, social media trackers, device fingerprinting, or any third-party cookies for cross-site profiling.

6. Your choices and controls

  • Banner: set or change your preferences when the cookie banner appears, and any time afterwards via Settings → Privacy.
  • Browser: most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Website (sign-in, contact form) will stop working.
  • Withdraw consent: withdrawing is as easy as giving consent. Withdrawing does not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place beforehand.

7. Your rights and how to complain

To the extent that cookies process personal data about you, your GDPR rights apply (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability). See our Privacy Policy for how to exercise them. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

8. Updates to this policy

If we change which cookies we use, we will update this page and, where required, ask for renewed consent through the banner.
